Expert: Dr. Ahmed Daahir, PhD in Development Economics.
Dr. Ahmed Daahir is an esteemed development economist with more than 20 years of
experience in economic empowerment programs, specializing in rural and urban poverty
alleviation. He has collaborated with numerous international organizations, including the
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the World Bank. Dr. Ahmed has been
at the forefront of community-driven microfinance initiatives that have empowered thousands
of women throughout Africa. His innovative approaches to economic development
underscore participatory models, enabling communities to take the lead in shaping their
economic futures. He holds a PhD in Development Economics from the University of Sussex
and has published extensively on inclusive growth strategies.

Dr. Adan is a distinguished expert in education with over 25 years of experience in
developing educational systems in underserved areas. He has collaborated with the Ministry
of Education in various countries to enhance curricula, teacher training, and student
performance, particularly in disadvantaged communities. Dr. Adan is dedicated to inclusive
education and is recognized for his efforts in implementing innovative educational programs
that address gender disparities. He holds a Doctorate in Education (Curriculum Development) and
has
served as a consultant for the European Union, UNICEF, and UNESCO.
Expert: Dr. Ayanle Jama, Educational Technology Expert.
Dr. Jama is a pioneer in the application of technology for education in developing countries.
He has led several initiatives aimed at introducing digital tools in rural schools, facilitating
students' access to online resources and contemporary learning platforms. Dr. Jama’s projects
include the development of digital literacy programs designed for both students and
educators, ensuring that education in underserved communities keeps pace with
advancements in the digital age. He holds a PhD in Educational Technology and has
collaborated with organizations such as the World Bank and the African Union on digital
education reforms.

Expert: Dr. Hawa Dakir, Public Health Specialist.

resource settings. She has led numerous health programs across Africa, including maternal
and child health projects, nutrition improvement initiatives, and infectious disease control
efforts. Dr. Hawa is recognized for her work in promoting healthcare access in rural
communities, where she has trained local health workers and established mobile health
clinics. She holds an MD from the University of Nairobi and a Master’s in Public Health
from Johns Hopkins University, where she has served as a visiting lecturer on community
health systems.

Expert: Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Environmental Scientist.
Dr. Yasmin is an environmental scientist specializing in sustainable development and natural
resource management. She has worked extensively with governments and NGOs to promote
reforestation, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience in Africa. Her expertise has
led
her to oversee numerous projects to reverse deforestation and educate local communities on
the importance of environmental conservation. Dr. Yasmin holds a PhD in Environmental
Science from the University of Cape Town and has served as a consultant for the United
Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Expert: Abdulwahid Yusuf, Renewable Energy Expert.
Yusuf is a recognized authority on renewable energy solutions in developing nations. He has
over 15 years of experience in designing and implementing solar energy projects, particularly
in rural and off-grid communities. His groundbreaking work in introducing affordable,
sustainable energy has improved the livelihoods of thousands of households, allowing them
access to clean and reliable electricity. Abdul holds a Master’s in Renewable Energy
Engineering from Delft University of Technology and has worked with organizations like the
Global Energy Network Institute (GENI).
BSDA’s community development programs focus on improving local governance, promoting social welfare, and encouraging civic participation. We aim to empower communities to take charge of their development by improving infrastructure, providing social services, and enhancing local leadership.
Expert: Amina Dirie, Community Development Specialist.
Amina is a seasoned expert in community development and local governance, bringing over
15 years of experience in collaboration with local governments, civil society organizations,
and international agencies. She has a proven track record of successfully implementing
programs designed to strengthen community leadership and improve public service delivery
in underserved areas. Amina holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of
Manchester and has significantly contributed to community-driven development programs
with the International Rescue Committee (IRC).
Expert: Abdullahi Warsame, Social Welfare Advocate.
Abdullahi is a dedicated advocate for social welfare and human rights. With a background in
social work, he has over a decade of experience working on initiatives that support vulnerable
populations, including refugees, the homeless, and individuals with disabilities. His expertise
in coordinating social service programs has positively impacted thousands of families,
helping them regain stability and hope. Abdullahi holds a master’s degree in social work from
Columbia University and frequently speaks at international social justice and welfare forums.

Our Research and Development (R&D) division is dedicated to conducting high-quality, evidence-based research that informs our programs and initiatives. By engaging in rigorous data collection and analysis and collaborating with academic institutions, we aim to develop innovative solutions to the challenges facing communities in areas such as education, health, economic empowerment, and environmental sustainability.

Warsame is a distinguished research scientist with over 15 years of experience in
development research, specializing in learning assessment and evaluation. With a background
in educational management and planning, he has conducted numerous studies addressing the
educational challenges in Somalia. Warsame is dedicated to leveraging data to drive
meaningful change and has collaborated with various international organizations, including
Adam Smith International, Save the Children, Care International, and USAID. Dr. Safia holds
a master’s degree in educational management and planning from the University of Nairobi
and is a regular contributor to research publications on development issues.
Expert: Dr. Abdinasir Jama, Innovation and Development Expert.
Dr. Abdinasir Jama holds a Ph.D. in education and has published several articles. Jama is a
senior education expert currently based in Mogadishu, Somalia. Dr Jama is a highly regarded
expert in innovation and development, focusing on the intersection of technology and social
change. After spending more than 15 years in education and different positions, Jama is well
versed in Somalia’s education dynamics. Dr. Jama has served as a quality assurance expert
for educational institutions, including the Federal Ministry of Education and the Puntland
Ministry of Education. He has also been a Senior part-time lecturer at local universities,
including Somali National University (SNU), Simad University, Jazeera University, and
Somali University in Mogadishu, Somalia.
